New Principal for KevalaBy Kevala The world's leading provider of specialist holistic therapy training by distance learning - Devon-based Kevala - is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Principal. On the 1st May 2007, figurehead of over ten years, Peter White will officially hand over the title and responsibility to Carl Munson. "I have been working with Kevala in an advisory capacity and was delighted to be offered the chance to take on the leadership of one of my favourite organisations in this expanding and exciting field of holistic education and training," says Carl, who brings over 15 years' worth of experience in holistic health and marketing to the role. Far from disappearing into retirement, Peter White sees the change as a "turbo-charge" for the organisation he founded with his late wife Sandie back in 1990 based on just two distance learning courses – Yoga teacher training and Stress Management. He will remain a key figure as a Kevala director offering strategic guidance, and consolidating his recent involvement with the regulation of complementary therapies at the highest levels of the industry and government. "I'm delighted to be handing over the reins of Kevala to such an energetic and creative successor," says Peter. "I have every confidence that Carl will take the Kevala vision to the next level with his unique mix of skills and appreciation of what we do as an international training provider." "My primary objectives are to make complementary and holistic therapies, and their subsequent enjoyment and benefit, available to as many people as possible - all over the world. From Newton Abbot to New York; from Babbacombe to Beijing and Devon to Dubai," adds Carl who is himself trained in massage and NLP. "This is a very important time in the health and wellbeing of people and the planet," declares Carl. "Western style living and healthcare clearly does not have all the answers and the promotion and protection of holistic, natural approaches to health - based on timeless truths - is a very important job. I'm up for that task." In the Kevala management team, Carl joins Kevala's Director of Learning Jacqueline Nicholls-White who in recent years has created an enviable line-up of courses with a huge team of expert holistic tutors and Liz Bubeer who heads up the college's well-loved, dedicated admin' and support team. With a range of over 20 highly accessible and internationally-respected courses, at taster, lifestyle and professional diploma level, The Kevala Centre is enjoying continued global recognition and growth as more people look for satisfying work in the world of complementary therapies as well as a greater understanding of holistic health for themselves and their families.
